A lot of changes are happening this year.
We are expanding our Night Ops Staff/Volunteers to improve the operation of the event and to train others on how to run their own Night Ops.
Beth Wright had a baby (July 20th) which changed the family dynamic of Night Ops as so many of the regular staffers are family members. The growing popularity of Night Ops, plus this new dynamic, brought a new focus to the need to expand the team that runs Night Ops.
Other Troops are running or planning to run their own Night Ops. Trail Life Troops in Texas did it earlier this year. Alabama troops are in the process of organizing their own. And rumors have it there might be a North Carolina Night Ops in the future.
We updated our logo to be more versatile and have started to incorporate themes. This year (2022), the theme is Ephesians 6:10-18 – the armor of God.
We updated our pricing to have an early bird and regular pricing. This is because of the amount of work that goes into managing registration and the growing popularity of the event. All funds go to the running of the event, improving the event for the future, improving Camp Aiken, and Trail Life GA Area 2 & AHG North Atlanta Area events.
The Puzzle station from last year has been turned into another Teamwork station (Recon being the other teamwork station). While having a puzzle that the patrols had to pick up the pieces of through out the night and then solve was… fun… it was also problematic.
The First Aid Station is getting dummies – Moe, Larry, and Curly. This will help us vary the scenarios more and provide a more consistent experience for patrols.
We will have limited edition acrylic event and station pins for adults. Let us know if this is something that you’d like to continue seeing /or/ if the adult volunteers would be interested in some other kind of swag.
